Time passes slowly in Khorramshahr. People spend their days and nights between present and past. Local markets, shopping complexes, daily business, all suggest it is Day 1395, and the houses destroyed by war mortars, walls still remembering bullet scars, and the sorrow persisting in this soil reflects the year 1361. People of Khorramshahr after about 34 years since war still live with its consequences. The neighbors of half-destroyed houses breathe hardly and by looking at them, they remember their owners and memories of that place becomes alive; owners of that houses are merely memories in others’ mind.
These days, Khorramshahr lives between past and present.
